Why I Believe AI Will Never Replace Human Artistry on Social Media
As a technology enthusiast, I am amazed by the advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, particularly in the field of generative AI. It is remarkable how these tools can now write long texts and create images from simple prompts provided by users.
However, these same tools have also caused a lot of fear and anxiety among platforms and artists who worry that their works may be used to train AI models, ultimately taking away their jobs in the near future.
Last February, one of the largest image libraries, Getty Images, filed a lawsuit against Stability AI, an AI company, accusing them of using over 12 million copyrighted images and their associated metadata to train their Stable Diffusion image generation tool.
This legal action followed a collective complaint by artists against Stability AI and other fast-growing generative AI companies for stealing billions of copyrighted images used to train their models to reproduce unique patterns without compensating the artists or seeking their permission.
