A Plea for Authentic Love
Stop Seeking Signs and Embrace What’s Real
Stop reading the cup, my love,
When you’re here with me,
For I reject this foolish game,
Played with human feelings so carelessly.
What do you seek, my lady fair,
And what do you wish to find?
You once said I was your desert sand,
Seeking warmth and safety in my kind.
You galloped wild in love’s vast plain,
Like a horse untamed and free,
Didn’t you declare once that my love,
Was a wonder for all to see?
Didn’t you say that I was a sea,
Of tenderness and care,
So why do you question me now,
As if I were a sultan from a far-off lair?
When I’m present, why don’t you believe,
What I say and hold so true,
Why do you consult with your cup instead,
And ask for advice from that friend of brew?
Stop reading the unknown, my love,
Be it happy tidings or bad,
For I’m the one who sends the dove,
And I’m the one who writes what’s to be had.
