A Love Poem

Oh woman of wonder, how the sea did toss,
And flung me to your feet, at such a cost,
Yet there you stood, with effortless poise,
As though my presence was a welcomed noise.

You, who gather all the seabirds to your chest,
To keep them safe, to let them rest,
What fortune befell me, to find you here,
Oh woman of words, you make my heart sing clear.

Warm as the sands that line the shore,
You are a wonder to behold and more,
Radiant as a moonlit night,
You are the magic that brings me light.

From the day you knocked upon my door,
My life began anew, I found much more,
How beautiful my world became,
When you taught my poetry to flame.

Do you doubt that you are the spark in my eyes?
Or that your hands are the light that never dies?
Do you doubt your words are the ones I speak?
Or that you and I are two halves of the same unique?
