Eternal Transience
A Journey Beyond The Self
In borrowed skin, I’ll leave one day,
A door ajar, perhaps to sway.
Return, perchance, a stranger’s guise,
Lost within, I won’t arise.
A fleeting breeze, I’ll laugh and roam,
Heed the cries, no place to call home.
From warm hellos to last goodbyes,
I’ll shed the past, as time flies.
With fervent kick, the world behind,
Into the void, I’ll seek to find.
Weary and worn, upon the ground,
Winter’s touch shall make me sound.
A blossom bright, in time I’ll be,
A towering tree, so grand and free.
Still I’ll stand, awaiting fate,
As life revolves, a spinning spate.
Parched and worn, my soul will fade,
Like fallen plumes, a feather’s trade.
For warmth, I’ll yearn, before the fall,
Embracing dusk, as endings call.
In ashes strewn, I’ll rest my claim,
The wind my guide, skyward I’ll aim.
Forever bound, in memory’s round,
Life’s cycle turns, in me it’s found.
