Forgive Me, My Little One
I apologize for the pain I have caused
I understand, my little one that you will not understand me
In love, it doesn’t matter, oh wide-eyed one, if you think I’m a failure
For I am like every traveler between doubts and certainty
The darkness and waves consume me, stripping me of my defenses
I have planted in your unknown horizon the dreams of the years
And built on the abandoned shore a palace of my longing
And drew in your night’s darkness the sad dawn’s smile
And made you a princess who reigns in a fantasy world
And wove your dress from the clouds’ threads and the sighs of the defenses
But your heart was too small for my great dream, so you were not
The one I dreamed of, who would soothe my eyes with it
And live my hopes on its balconies through the ages
I am not blaming you, oh little one, so rest and leave me
I will rebuild and destroy what I have built of structures and fortresses
You will not be able to comprehend my dreams and the philosophy of madness
