Longing for Her

The Pain of Unattainable Love

My heart aches for her, my soul to meet
But how to reach the one I long to greet

My thirst for her presence is like a disease
I seek a cure, but love is all I please

For love, the ruler of hearts, can bring despair
Making the distance between us hard to bear

I lay awake at night, my tears flow like rain
As I yearn for her touch, my heart feels the pain

Though her image may be near, yet far away
I’m trapped in this love, in this longing I stay

Her gaze, a constant in my mind, a frozen frame
But my love for her, in secrecy it remains

Tears of longing, they fall upon my face
For her, my heart’s solace and my saving grace

My eyes are fixed on her, my love is strong
But my heart is broken, it sings a mournful song

If only I could reach the stars up high
I’d declare my love, beneath the starlit sky

My love for her is eternal, it will never die
It’s engraved within my heart, until the day I die
