Love Beyond Death
A Poem About Love That Transcends Life
In my heart, a maiden pure and chaste,
With a scent of musk upon her face,
My senses lost, my reason gone,
From the moment her beauty shone.
When I sought her love, she held away,
And I begged and pleaded day by day.
Tell her, when you come to her embrace,
That I died for love of her sweet face.
Remind her of me in every way,
That she may remember, come what may.
And when you visit her, walk with care,
For my bones long to rest where she treads, fair.
My soul longs for her, night and day,
My eyes trace her footsteps in every way.
Nothing but hope has helped me cope,
With the thought that one day, she’ll give me a scope.
Let her know, when you see her next,
My heart is hers, and hers the only text.
