I absolutely relish a good writing challenge! So when I stumbled upon Sheri Jacobs’ latest poetry challenge, I knew I had to dive in headfirst. Thank you, Sheri, for continually inspiring us with your prompts and nudging us to push the boundaries of our creativity.

This particular challenge was to write a poem about our own “red wheelbarrow,” or the thing we depend on most in life. For me, it was easy to realize that my computer was my rock. It’s my window to the world, my partner in crime, and my trusty sidekick in both good times and bad.

Sitting down to pen this poem, I couldn’t help but get lost in the emotions and memories my computer has helped me capture, store, and create. It was a beautiful and reflective experience that made me grateful for my digital companion.

What about you? What helps you achieve your dreams and overcome your struggles?

So much depends
upon

my trusty computer
all day long

With its keys that clack
and its screen so bright

It’s the one that connects me
to the world outside

It’s the keeper of my plans
and the source of my power
