Oh, How I Need You
In a clear night with a gentle breeze
In a clear night with a gentle breeze,
I sat by my little window with ease.
It was my only companion, you see,
It showed me a different world, a world that was free.
I chose that night to be my friend,
So I could confide in it, and it could comprehend,
My pains and struggles when I’m all alone,
And my soul is weary, and my heart is prone.
I lamented, I spoke, and I shared my scars,
With a world that never granted me its stars.
I told it of my boredom, my shattered soul,
Of my sufferings that had taken their toll.
I’ve been hurt; my wounds run deep,
And my sorrows within me, they keep.
I’m exhausted, yet my heart still beats,
With love and hope for life’s endless treats.
But life has never opened its doors to me,
And happiness has been nothing but a distant sea.
Oh, how I need you, can’t you see?
My tears have flowed like a raging river, free.
