A Painful Dream That Never Fades
She appeared before me, her voice heavy with sorrow. I could hear the pain in her words, the hurt she had been carrying for so long. My heart ached at the sight of her, and I could feel my own tears start to fall.
We spoke, our words filled with longing and regret. I wanted to hold and comfort her, but she was only a vision. A ghost from my past, a memory I couldn’t let go of.
As she spoke, I felt my heart break all over again. The pain of losing her was still fresh, still raw. I had tried to forget, to move on, but she had been etched into my soul.
“Do you remember my love for you?” she asked, her voice trembling. “If you do, you’ll understand that this disease and bad habit have taken over everything in me.”
I could see the sadness in her eyes, the weight of the world bearing down on her. She was tired, worn out from carrying the burden of her pain alone.
“I’ve even gone mad, you know?” she continued, her voice barely above a whisper.
I wanted to reach out to her, take her in my arms, and tell her everything would be okay. But I couldn’t. She wasn’t really there.
