Amidst the darkness, where shadows expand
A tiny window, a portal to the world outside
Where bodies blend and silence resides
Heartbeats echo in the depths of my soul
Reflecting on memories, making me whole
A world of light meets the darkness within
Bringing to light the memories deep within
The past, a reflection of the future untold
A dream that lives, a story to unfold
Loneliness, a companion in the depths of my heart
Pain and sorrow, in exile, worlds apart
The light reflects on the wall, a painting in time
A glimpse of the past, so full of life and rhyme
Joy, love, vitality, and youth, a beautiful song
And yet, pain, sadness, wounds, and wrongs
All moments etched in my mind, days long gone
We laughed, we cried, we loved, we moved on
Yet so much forgotten, as life goes on
Time only moves forward, like a river so strong
