The Art of Losing

A Migrant’s Tale of Sacrifice and Redemption

In a foreign land, the migrant wanders,
Lost in a sea of unfamiliar wonders,
With each step he takes, he sheds a tear,
For the memories and loves left dear.

He sacrificed his all to seek a better life,
Endured the toil of a daily strife,
And yet, with every success, he lost a part,
Of his soul, his essence, his beating heart.

The art of losing, he learned to master,
As each goodbye, each farewell came faster,
His loved ones, his roots, his sense of place,
All sacrificed for the chance to run life’s race.

The pain and loneliness, they cut deep,
As he traversed the path of a migrant’s leap,
But he learned to bear it, to wear it like a coat,
A badge of honor, a symbol of his hope.

For he knew that with each loss, he gained,
A piece of his soul that could never be tamed,
The strength, the resilience, the power to survive,
Were all his as he fought to stay alive.
