The Dance of Time and Love
An Ode to Longing and Everlasting Hope
Time’s waltz, I’ll halt one day, alone,
To memories of love, long overthrown,
From the wall, I’ll wrest the clock,
Bid its hands to bend, unlock.
To the past, I’ll navigate,
Seek the door you didn’t close too late,
Knees to ground, tears downpour,
In desolation, I’ll implore.
Stay in touch, I’ll plead, don’t stray,
Your smile, assuring, lights the way,
Embracing sweet deceit, I’ll yield,
To bitter truth, my heart concealed.
Promises exchanged, I’ll wait,
At my slate of emptiness, innate,
The stubborn clock, now still, defies,
Commands to turn, and time denies.
In memories, I’ll reminisce,
Your fleeting ghost, perhaps, to kiss,
Smiles of resolve, persistence mine,
Towards the past, I’ll not decline.
My future anchored in your yesteryear,
Love’s rose to bloom, eternally clear,
In this dance of time and love, we sway,
Together…
