The soul weeps for the world and knows
Peace in it is just to leave it all behind
There’s no dwelling for man after death
Only what he built before, his legacy in kind

If built with good, his dwelling will be bright
But built with evil, he’ll suffer its plight
Where are the kings who once held sway
Till death claimed them, took their sway away

Our wealth we gather, to be passed on to heirs
Our deeds, we build, to face the test of time’s wear
How many cities in the horizons built yesterday
Now lie in ruins, death has claimed them all one day

For each soul, the end is certain, near or far
Even if it dreams of immortality, a mirage by far
Man expands his dreams, but time takes them away
Death collects them, and the soul disbands in dismay

Virtue is the noble character, the essence of faith
Reason is second, knowledge third, forbearance fifth, to be safe
Generosity, kindness, justice, and gratitude rank high
Patience, compassion, the soul…
