Your love, a pain, an echoing refrain,
Lingering within, a ballad of past sin,
A dream that escaped, in the silence of night,
Stolen from my heart, under the cloak of moonlight.

Tears poured for your absence, a river, a brook,
Where once our hearts had passionately shook.
Cold now is the ember, where once a fire stood,
And your fragrance lingers, in a forgotten neighborhood.

Alone without you, I’ve faltered, I’ve waned,
Oh, how severe is this desolation, unrestrained,
They left regret in my keep, a somber, bitter gift,
In your eyes, they hid, in an unfathomable rift.

My heart cries, mournfully it shrieks,
Calling for you, its voice weak and meek,
Deprived of joy, in the absence of those dear,
My heart is a desolate place, a realm of fear.

To whom do you belong, my love, my delight?
To you, my heart is given, in the dark of the night.
You are the angel of my heart, its fervent desire,
In your beauty, my life finds
