The Echoes of Your Presence
When the earth beneath my feet dissolves,
I know your steps have come toward me,
And as shadows dance before my eyes,
My world trembles within me.
My constants shake inside,
And time flies by at the pace of your smile.
Your gaze holds me captive,
Destroying all the exits of my thoughts.
I lose the outlet of my words
And the colors of my imagination,
As I see myself in your eyes,
Melting away like the ground beneath my feet.
You plant me in an oasis,
Where your heart shines bright,
And the moon fades away,
So I wait for my freedom
To surrender to lips that take away
What remains of my will?
Come to me quickly,
Embrace my worries and anxieties,
Shower me with your breath,
And surround my world like an insulating membrane,
Pushing away the distance that remains.
